More details coming soon!

Sirena - I sailed on her from June 2021 to January 2022 from Hawaii to Mexico. Sirena Blog

Angelique

Angelique is a beautiful Columbia 57. I sailed on Angelique off and on for over 5 years, including 2 ocean crossings and the 2018 Pacific Cup. Many fun adventures together with Captain and Owner Andy Kurtz.

August Long Beach to Lahaina crossing - click HERE for photos

Aug 5th 2020 we departed Long Beach for what turned out to be a very slow leisurely crossing to Hawaii, 5 crew onboard Angelique for this sail, as Captain Andy quickly put together as kind of a consolation prize for having all my South pacific plans and the Tahiti race cancelled due to covid. On board were Jim, Gaston, Toni and Jazzy and Captain Andy of course. Our expectation when we left was to have to slow down to be sure it took at least 14 days to get across the pond to Maui so we would be exempt from having to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival... little did we know that mother nature was going to help and make our trip a really slow one.

We never really had the normal trade winds develop on this 2100 mile trip, in fact the most wind we had was some gusting to 21 knots during the very few squalls we encountered. The light wind did make for very easy sailing we were able to fly the spinnaker with the auto pilot driving day after day, just enough wind in it to keep us moving along at 4 knots.

We stopped to swim in the deep end of the pool, the crew enjoying cooling off in the 17 thousand foot deep (at our location) pacific ocean.

We had some good luck fishing and caught two very nice Mahi-Mahi, the second one we stopped and broke out the BBQ to grill up on deck. While enjoying this bizarre event we were visited by a 7-9 food shark which swam around us for 20 minutes, good thing the crew had swam the day before, after that visit we would have had a hard time convincing everyone to jump in!

We arrived at Lahaina after 16.5 days, for Jim, Jazzy and Gaston it was a their first ocean crossing and really special because they are all from the same family! Toni added her third Hawaii - mainland trip. And Captain Andy's 32nd crossing or there about. A very fun and relaxing trip!

Grand Illusion

I was lucky enough to help with the deliver of Grand Illusion, a Santa Cruz 70, from Honolulu back to Marina Del Ray after the 2019 Transpac. Patrick was our captain, a total of 5 crew on board. 11 days from Hawaii to California!! Definitely my fastest crossing to date!

Vuja Star

Chris Kim. I was had the pleasure of being able to race with Chris over two seasons on his J105 in the San Francisco Bay.
